The Dreaming Zebra Foundation is a nonprofit charity designed to provide financial support so that every
young artist is given an equal opportunity to explore his or her creativity with adequate resources.
The number of art and music classes that have been eliminated from the educational is system is staggering
and heartbreaking. Our strong belief is that access to arts education should not be based upon
socioeconomic privilege, and our heartfelt objective is to promote affordable access to the arts for children,
so that we all continue to live in a world where they are able to express and discover themselves through the
arts, and to become who they are meant to be.
With the help of our volunteers, members, and sponsors, DZF provides new and
recycled art supplies, musical instruments, classes, funding, and other critical
art resources to those in need. We also work to raise community awareness and
support, and to pursue legislative change and protection for arts education in the
future.
One of the Foundation's foremost goals is to provide as much support as possible to Title 1 Public
schools, which are desperately in need of creative resources. Title 1 is a federally funded program designed to help children
achieve grade-level performance, and schools are selected for Title 1 funding based upon the poverty level of the school.
Please view our Wish List, to see how you can help the children enrolled in these schools, and in other organizations such
as Boys and Girls Clubs, and mentoring programs, where exposure to the arts is an essential element of the development of
today's youth.
